Water Hyacinth Control
Water hyacinth (Eichhornia crassipes) is a free-floating invasive that forms thick, fast-doubling mats.
How to identify it
Water hyacinth gives itself away three ways: thick, round, waxy leaves that float in rosettes; swollen, spongy leaf-stalks that act like little floats; and a showy lavender flower spike marked with a yellow, blue-ringed blotch on the top petal. Long, dark, feathery roots trail beneath the surface.

Why it’s a problem
Water hyacinth can double its coverage in a matter of days. It blankets the surface, blocks light and oxygen, chokes irrigation and outflow, and pushes into shoreline pockets and back-water a boat can't safely reach.
When a drone is the right tool (vs. a boat)
The mats along the shoreline and back in the coves take an aquatic-approved product at label rate, applied straight down onto them. Those are the exact zones a boat or ATV can't service, and nothing has to be launched onto a choked surface to get there.
Best time to treat
The warm months are the window. The plants are green and growing then, so they take up the product best, and a mat is still catchable before it doubles out on you. The sooner in that window we get to it, the less surface there is to treat.
Treatment cost
We price hyacinth off how much surface the mat covers and how reachable that water is. Tell us about the pond or lake and we'll quote it.
A note on results: a treatment reduces an infestation, and no application can guarantee a percent kill. We scope every job to the site in front of us and tell you what a pass is likely to do.

We apply only aquatic-approved products, at label rate, for the target and the site. Depending on the water and the jurisdiction, some waterbodies need notification or a permit before anyone treats them, and we coordinate that with the owner before we fly.
