Drone Application for Food Plot Broadcast Seeding

Food Plot Seeding

How to identify it

A food plot or cover-crop planting is a stand of forage (clovers, brassicas, grains, or a wildlife blend) seeded to feed deer and other wildlife or to hold and build the soil. What we broadcast is the seed; the goal is an even, established green stand like the one shown here.

Why it’s a problem

The best food-plot ground is often the hardest to reach: remote back-acreage, wet bottoms, or plots tucked into brush where hauling a tractor and drill is impractical or damaging.

When a drone is the right tool (vs. a ground rig)

Seed lands evenly on remote, wet, or small irregular plots with no road and no tractor track. The plot ends up where you actually want it, even if that's the back corner nobody can drive to.

Best time to treat

Seeding is timed to the plot and the seed mix: cool-season plots go in from late summer into early fall, warm-season plots in spring once the frost risk is past. Either way we broadcast to hit the planting window and the soil moisture the seed needs to establish. Seeding pairs naturally with our pre-emergent and brush work.

Treatment cost

On a food plot, the seed and the rate you want it broadcast at matter as much as the plot area does. Send us the plots and we'll price them.

A note on results: a treatment reduces an infestation, and no application can guarantee a percent kill. We scope every job to the site in front of us and tell you what a pass is likely to do.
